Friday 6th September

Droichead Arts Centre invites you to read Skin Deep by Liz Nugent this summer as part of the county wide Wee County, Big Book Club project in association with Louth Library Services, An Táin Arts Centre and Creative Spark. Liz will be in conversation with Dani Gill, and will talk about her most recent novel, Skin Deep. There will be an opportunity for the audience to participate and join the discussion.

An accomplished author, Liz Nugent’s debut novel – ‘Unravelling Oliver’ – was published to critical and popular acclaim in 2014 and won the ‘Crime Novel of the Year’ at the Irish Book Awards that year. Her second novel, ‘Lying in Wait’, spent nine weeks at number 1 in the Irish Bestseller list and eight months in the top 10. Last year saw her win both the Irish Independent Crime Fiction Book of the Year prize and RTÉ Radio 1’s The Ryan Tubridy Show Listeners’ Choice Award at the Irish Book Awards for ‘Skin Deep’.

"A twisted thriller." - Ian Rankin, Guardian Books of the Year

"Dazzling ... chilling, mesmerising and, ultimately, devastating. Pure storytelling genius." - Mark Edwards

Wee County, Big Book Club will be accompanied by a month long programme of events in September around the County.
