Connect Family Resource Centre, in partnership with Droichead Arts Centre, is looking for an artist to work on a new arts project. This project will explore themes around identity, focusing on family, community, values, traditions, and societal experience. Working with local families, the artist will facilitate a series of workshops, collaborating with participants to create and design collages that will be displayed on large banners. The project is in two phases: a workshop phase this winter over 6 weeks of workshops, and an installation phase in Feb 2027, where the collages will be installed on banners that will then form part of the Drogheda St. Patrick's Parade 2027, followed by a short exhibition in the Arts Centre.
We welcome applications from artists who work with mixed media, including painting, tapestry, embroidery, or fashion, and who have experience in socially engaged arts practice working with communities and groups. This project is due to commence late October 2026 and the artist will be chosen jointly by Connect Family Resource Centre and Droichead Arts Centre. The artist fee is €5000 for the project; plus, a small stipend of €500 towards any travel. There is also a separate materials budget.
