Kelly Hoyne is a mixed media artist from Bettystown whose work takes inspiration from local folklore, the natural world and coastal life. Her practice explores connections to elements of the sea; how the sea can be emotive and meditative, how proximity to it can shape identity and how the sea in its different forms can feel like reflections of self.
During her residency at The Kiosk Project Art Space, Kelly will reflect on seaside childhood nostalgia and develop projects with collage, print, paint and photography, experimenting with and incorporating seaweed pressings and beach found items in her work.
On Thursday 15th and Friday 16th of October Kelly will host an open studio at The Kiosk Project Art Space from 1-6pm for anyone who would like to pop in to look at what she's been working on or to have a chat.
