Droichead Arts Centre is committed to good governance and complies with regulatory requirements as set out by the Charities Regulatory Authority under the Governance Code, and the governance and transparency requirements as outlined by the Arts Council. Our transparency scale is derived from The Governance Code for Community, Voluntary and Charitable Organisations.

Our commitment to comply with financial governance is guided by the Charities SORP (FRS102). Droichead Arts Centre is also committed to comply with the Principles of Good Fundraising.

Programming Policy

Droichead aims to produce a cogent, compelling programme of work that supports artists and nurtures audiences by:

  • Curating a coherent programme that considers our current and future audiences and advances our ambitions to be relevant to our many, diverse communities.
  • Creating a suite of artist development supports including residency programmes, awards and bursaries.
  • Undertaking commissions and provide opportunities to showcase work.
  • Producing discrete projects across all genres independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Showcasing the best of national and international work in a hybrid programme that offers in-person and online experiences.
  • Continue and extend our local, national and international creative alliances and partnerships focussing on long term initiatives that advance our ambitions for artists and our communities

We work with a number of external curators in the devising and production of our programme including in music - Brian Hegarty/thirty-three 45 and SJ McArdle; Literature - Dani Gill, and Dorothy Smith, our Visual Arts Curator in Residence. Our visual arts programme is devised through a number of processes including; special once off commissions, curatorial collaborations, open calls and residencies. We strive to engage with and support local artists in the North East Region by showcasing their work in solo and group exhibitions, including initiative such as our First Solo Awards.

 

Complaints

We welcome feedback you may have about our organisation. As a valued supporter and audience member of Droichead Arts Centre, we will consider any feedback or complaints that you may have.

We will ensure:

  • It is as easy as possible to make a complaint.
  • We will treat any feedback or complaint seriously whether it is made by telephone, letter, email or in person.
  • We will deal with it quickly, politely and respectfully.
  • We will respond to the situation appropriately and accordingly.


If you do have a complaint

If you do have a complaint you can contact Droichead Arts Centre by email, post, telephone or in person. Your feedback or complaint will be dealt with by our General Manager who may resolve the issue, or forward it to the most appropriate person to respond. If your complaint is received over the phone we will endeavour to have it resolved there and then (where possible), if it is received by email or post we will acknowledge it within 7 days and do everything to resolve any complaints within 10 working days.
