Community & Engagement

Children and arts employee waving at engagement workshop

Our Community and Engagement Programme runs year round, in schools, in communities, in our venue, on the streets. We want people across all our communities know the arts in their lives. We know the difference the arts can make to people’s lives. That’s why we want to extend experiences of the arts to as many people as possible within our communities. We want the arts in Droichead to be of, by and for the people of Drogheda, East Meath and Louth. To achieve this, we will sustain and deepen some of our existing relationships and develop new ones. We will listen and learn from the very many diverse groups and communities about us. Working and thinking with them, we look forward to imagining and developing new ways for participation and for creating our future.

Objectives

  • Increase appreciation of Droichead as a creative hub for the people of Drogheda, East Meath and Louth and as a cultural destination for those beyond our locale.
  • Maintain ongoing inquiry and dialogue with existing and desired future stakeholders to ensure the relevance and impact of our work.
  • Create bespoke programmes and initiatives to encourage the engagement and participation of people of all ages and abilities, from all sections of society, from existing and new communities, and from all social backgrounds, ethnicities and traditions.
  • Support local voluntary and amateur groups to produce and present work of ambition for local audiences.
