Saturday 25th May

Join us for the inaugural Makers Making More Thinking Time Walk, taking place in the beautiful Boyne Valley! We invite artists and arts workers of all kinds to slow down and reflect. Spend time in nature and enjoy a nourishing and thoughtful exploration of your own practice. The walk will be conducted mostly in silence, and you will be offered prompts to encourage contemplation, curiosity and connection with yourself and your work.

Led by artist Lian Bell who has developed programmes over a number of years to support other artists in their practice. Lian has a background in scenography, visual art, and social activism – for more see www.lianbell.com

Practical notes:

The group walk takes approximately 2.5 hours on easy trails, and will culminate in a social gathering. Details on walk and meeting place will be confirmed in the next two weeks. Free but booking required.

Please dress for the weather, and wear appropriate footwear. We are committed to a        " Leave No Trace" walk, so please bring any litter home with you.  If you would like to attend, and need help with transport to get to the Boyne Valley, let us know. For 18+.

Makers Maker More

In 2023, Droichead launched the Makers Making More Initiative, developed and produced by award winning Actress/Singer Juliette Crosbie, and Droichead’s Director Collette Farrell, inspired by our first Artist Drop In, in 2023.  The MMM initiative places an established artist (and their eyes and ears) at the core of producing events, workshops, Q&A’s for the community from which they come, with the intent of identifying artist’s unique needs and struggles and devising creative solutions to enhance resources and empower artists. Events are free to attend , but booking is essential.
