Schubert’s Cello Quintet was the last piece of chamber music that he wrote prior to his premature death at the age of 31. A work of light and shade, serenity and drama, it is surely one of the most recognisable and beloved pieces of his chamber music output particularly the poignantly beautiful slow Adagio movement. For this performance, the Lir Quartet is joined by guest cellist Christopher Marwood.
