Friday 7th May
Drogheda
Book Collective in association with Droichead Arts
Centre will present our second book club meet up with prize winning author Sinéad Gleeson,
on Friday May 7th, at 7pm. The session will be introduced and facilitated by Droichead's
Literary Audience Development Officer, Dani Gill, and is a collaboration between
Drogheda Book Collective, co-ordinated by Rita Hynes, and Drogheda Library. Readers will have the chance
to enjoy an hour with Sinéad, discussing her work The Art of the Glimpse: 100 Irish Short Stories.
Sinéad’s essays
have been published by Granta, Winter Papers and Gorse,
and broadcast by BBC and RTÉ. Her debut essay collection Constellations: Reflections from Life (Picador) won Non-Fiction
Book of the Year at 2019 Irish Book Awards and the Dalkey Literary Award for
Emerging Writer. It was shortlisted for the Rathbones Folio Prize, the Michel
Déon Prize and the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Her short stories have
featured in various anthologies including Being

was published by Head of Zeus in October 2020. She is currently working on
a novel.
The session with Sinéad will be an intimate
book club style event, where people can join with a cup of tea/coffee and
enjoy an hour in the company of a good writer.
