Our doors might be closed but our creativity and community will continue. #DroicheadConnects

One of Droichead’s core strategic aims is to support the work and development of artists in the North East Region, and to engage with audiences and communities of all ages. We will continue to do so and pay our artists; explore different ways to work on planned programmes; remotely for now, provide opportunities and support for partnership, showcase work, and commission some new work.  As well as our Artist in Association and Company in Residence programmes and our First Solo Award, we will share work already made, and as we continue to work remotely with artists, we will look at how best to share new work and works in progress for our audiences to engage with.

Our youth theatre, Droichead Youth Theatre, continue their weekly classes remotely and are prepping for their Mini Shakespeare Festival online. I

We continue to work with artists in Drogheda and its environs, including our 2020/21 Artist in Association writer Nicola Pierce, playwright/actor Grainne Rafferty, composer/singer SJ McArdle, and our 2020/21 Company in Residence Tailtiu Theatre. There are new commissions from the Borrowed Ground Collective, a literary online series curated by our Literature Audience Development Officer, Dani Gill, and some great ideas from our Youth Focus Group. And we will keep you up to date on events and resources from further afield.

Currently most of our programme is available for free, but if you would like to make a donation for future programming for when we re-open, if you can afford it, you can DONATE HERE  from as little as €1. THANK YOU.
