Would you like to have your first solo exhibition in our gallery?  Our First Solo Award offers support at a key point in the careers of professional visual artists and, for the first time in 2020, this award will also be open to all professional artists in the North East region who have yet to present a solo show, while focusing on recent art graduates every second year. Previous recipients include Eimear Murphy, with her exhibition Shape, Heap; thing in 2018, and Sean McGuill, with The Great Filter which will open on 30 October 2019.

What are we looking for?

1.     Artist Statement

2.     A brief overview of your proposal

3.     A detailed proposal, including images

4.     Links to your website/your online material/ to a drop box file

Droichead Arts Centre will look after installation, marketing and PR support, opening reception, and we will pay an artist's fee.

Deadline for submission is 31 Jan 2020 . We will inform successful artists by the end of February 2020.

Timeframe: Droichead Arts Centre plan to host one First Solo Exhibition in autumn 2020 and one in autumn 2021. 

Artists should note we do not accept unsolicited applications for exhibitions outside of any submission open call dates.  Due to limited resources your submission will go unacknowledged.
