Night Moves at Droichead returns with our late night club, transforming every corner of the arts centre into a captivating space. Audiences will enjoy ambient music in our gallery, and experience a bespoke art installation by artist Alan Leech, and welcome back the legendary alternative folk/roots/rock seven-piece The Cacks, with a special gig featuring a hand-picked guest who will perform alongside the band’s multi-instrumentalist lineup. This time the Cacks team up with Navan based singer/songwriter, Joy Booth who will bring her blend of folk, blues and country with disarmingly honest lyrics and captivating melodies.

The Cacks are a dynamic seven-piece band that brings together a rich tapestry of musical talent and creativity. With each member equipped to masterfully handle multiple instruments, including piano, bouzouki, bodhrán, and guitars, The Cacks create a unique sound that blends traditional and contemporary influences.
What truly sets The Cacks apart is their collective passion for songwriting and vocal harmony. Each member lends their voice and perspective to the songwriting process, crafting a diverse array of tracks that resonate with audiences. Their music captures the essence of their Irish roots while venturing into new sonic territories, reflecting their diverse influences and backgrounds.
After months of hard work and collaboration, The Cacks have just wrapped up recording their debut album at the renowned Black Mountain Studio. This highly anticipated release, slated for early next year, is set to showcase their innovative sound and lyrical depth, promising listeners an unforgettable musical experience. With a passion for pushing creative boundaries and a lively stage presence, The Cacks are ready to make their mark on the music scene. Keep an eye out for their upcoming album and prepare to experience their unique sound when they hit the stage!
Joy Booth is a singer-songwriter from Navan, Co. Meath. No stranger to some of Ireland’s top venues and festivals, she has opened shows for celebrated artists including Wallis Bird, Cathy Davey, Pilgrim St, Declan O’Rourke, Mary Coughlan, The Lost Brothers and SJ McArdle. Over the years, Joy has collaborated with an ecclectic mix of artists, performing and recording with the likes of Saramai & The Swords, Eugene Donegan, The Handsome Boatmen and Davie Furey. She is also a proud member of If, a vibrant 8-piece ska and reggae-inspired band.
Joy’s music blends folk, blues and country with disarmingly honest lyrics and captivating melodies that explore both the playful and the personal. Her well-received debut album, All You Were, was released in January 2023. It showcases an array of talented Meath-based musicians, including Alun Smyth, Toby Cregan, Baz Fitzgerald, Franny McGinn and other band members from If, Pilgrim St, Perlee and Bowery Boy. Recorded at Crooked Wood Studios in Slane with acclaimed producer and pianist Mark Cahill, All You Were is available now in all the usual places.
Night Moves is a innovative & dynamic programme designed to provide new & engaging night time cultural experiences across Drogheda & East Meath. Produced by Droichead Arts Centre, and delivered with a team of curators, promoters & alternative venues, in partnership with Love Drogheda BIDS, supported by the Arts Offices in Louth & Meath County Councils, and the newly established Night-Time Economy Advisor in Drogheda. This programme encapsulates our vision of extending cultural offerings, fostering partnerships, & creating diverse opportunities for artists & audiences alike.
