The new DRAWDA mural celebrates the ancient deity, The Cailleach, the divine sorceress and mother goddess associated with the creation of the landscape and ancient monuments. As part of the second phase of DRAWDA, Drogheda’s iconic Urban Art Trail, the world-renowned Italian urban painter Vera Bugatti created this incredible work on the YGH building on Dominic Street. This project is a collaborative effort by Droichead, Love Drogheda BIDS, and Louth County Council, curated by artist Dee Walsh in association with mythologist Anthony Murphy.
This outstanding project is made possible through the support and funding of several entities, including Louth County Council, Failte Ireland Urban Animation Fund, The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon In the Open, Faoin Spéir Initiative, LoveDrogheda B.I.D.S., and Town & Village Accelerated Measures, Colourtrend Paints, Drogheda Hire and Murtaghs of Drogheda. Thanks to Once Upon Design and Anglo Printers and The d hotel for their support, and special thanks to YGH Hair (You’re Georgous Hair), Dominic St. Drogheda.
