All three artists in this exhibition have shaped and formed their own vision and language using organic and natural shapes and images as their starting points. Suzanne Carroll’s work in the Cooley mountains and her experimentation with materials, processes and colour - painting, printing, layering, cutting – have resulted in semi abstract compositions in which the tension between the interplay of her source materials and processes are evident.
Emma Ray’s detailed skill-full oil paintings draw attention to and explore with clarity the fore shore that is so familiar to us yet with which we seldom give the time to fully consider. An assiduous keeper of notebooks Gina Petrea’s diverse practice includes working with found building site materials and myriad source material.
