Volunteers

Droichead Arts Centre’s volunteer programme has been operational since 2013 and has brought with it a professional and enthusiastic positive experience to our theatre. Our volunteer coordinator is Rita McQuillan and she is looking for warm and welcoming people to join our team of volunteer ushers. Your role as volunteers is to help meet and greet our patrons and be the welcoming face of the Droichead Arts Centre, show customers to their seats and be the house representative in the audience.

Being a volunteer at Droichead Arts Centre comes with many benefits:

  • You become part of the Front of House team that makes our events happen
  • You can learn and develop new skills in the area of customer service
  • Volunteering gives plenty of opportunities to meet new people every time you are in Droichead.
  • You can see many of our shows from our diverse range of events when you volunteer.

If you would like to be part of the team, please click the link below to download the application form. All application forms or queries about the Volunteer Programme should be forwarded to rita.mcquillan@droichead.com

What our volunteers say:

"Volunteering provides an incredible opportunity to stay in touch with the local community and meet new people. I've had the chance to sit in on some brilliant performances, and giving some time to the Droichead Arts Centre is always a rewarding way to spend an evening. Getting involved here has encouraged me to volunteer in my college and at national festivals, experiences I've loved. It's great to be part of the action!" Anna – Volunteer since July 2013

"I love being a volunteer with the Droichead Arts Centre.

Being a volunteer means I can do two of the things I enjoy doing most; going to the theatre, and meeting people.

I enjoy the shows and I love discussing the show with members of the audience during the interval and at the end.

I also love the flexibility being a volunteer offers me. I can be part of the team without sacrificing any other commitments." Mary – Volunteer since October 13

"Being a volunteer in the Droichead is both exciting and rewarding. Exciting in as much as I feel part of the great Staff who work there for the promotion and enhancement of the Visual Arts in the town.  Meeting the public who attend various performances, interacting with them and helpful towards them is most rewarding and pleasant. Also there is the added bonus of being able to attend the performances, while still being attentive to people’s needs. It was a lucky day for me when I answered "the call on the Poster”!!  Thank you " Kay – Volunteer since April 2014
