Calling Musicians! Drogheda Orchestral Collective (DOC) is delighted to announce that Karen Ní Bhroin, award-winning assistant conductor with RTÉ Orchestras and Choirs will Conduct the Drogheda group for its new Spring Season, commencing in April 2018.   Musicians of all instrument families are invited to be part of an exciting learning and performing season - please contact us. We would love to hear from you.

Drogheda Orchestral Collective is a community orchestra open to musicians of all ages, but currently made up of mostly adult musicians. The collective is supported by Droichead Arts Centre, and is an integral part of Droichead's programme. The group performs a broad repertoire from classical, film scores to choral and experimental pieces and has collaborated with many artists and performers since its formation in 2013. Following sell out performances of The Snowman performed to a live screening of the film, and works such as Sean O Riadas Mise Eire, the collective have also engaged with inspiring musicians in workshops given by Zoe Conway, Tadhg Murphy and Camerata Ireland.  As guest conductor Karen Ní Bhroin has extensive experience conducting and teaching and we are delighted to welcome her to what will be a very exciting season for DOC.

Karen is one of Ireland’s leading young choral and orchestral conductors and is the current Deputy Conductor with Dublin Orchestral Players and is RTE Choirs, Orchestras and Quartets Conductor in Training 2016/2017. Karen is conductor in training to Mark Hindley and the RTE Philharmonic Chorus, Greg Beardsell and Irish Youth Choir, Eunan McDonald and Irish Youth Training Choir.

Rehearsals will resume on April 9th with Karen conducting from the 16th.
