Stockwell Street

The Arts Centre on Stockwell Street hosts a comfortable and intimate theatre, café bar and a large gallery space. There are 165 seats in the newly refurbished theatre space. This is an ideal venue for theatre, music gigs, comedy, dance, community & school productions, readings, talks and business and educational seminars. 

Barlow House

The Arts Centre at Barlow House hosts two large and one small meeting space. It also hosts seven office spaces. This adaptable facility is suitable for meeting, rehearsals, workshops, interviews, talks and readings.

Get in/out Stockwell Street Venue

The theatre is located on the first floor above the library in the Drogheda Municipal Centre. The get in of heavy and big pieces of equipment is via electric crane hoist (2000kg) Located in lane at side of building, (hoist gates W 1.80m H 3.80m) Hoist loads into the loading bay adjacent to the stage. Stage then accessed through doorway (W 1.60m H 3.80m).

Access to the scene dock is via an area owned by neighbours; although access is available at any time, permanent parking is strictly forbidden beside the theatre. At Barlow House we can provide a locked secured carpark. However, we can facilitate visiting companies at our Barlow House premises situated three minutes walk away. There is a lift at main entrance (3.60kg) and broad open stairway.

Please liaise closely with the Technical Manager on get in times, pre-rigging etc.

N.B. All sets should have a valid fire cert.
Any toured equipment deemed unsafe by the Technical Manager may not be used.
All toured lanterns MUST have safety brands and be in good repair or they will not be hung.

Crew

droichead arts centre normally provides 1 house technician for up to 12 hours to assist with get-in, and 1 technician for the get-out. Additional technical cover will be charged for. We do not provide sound engineers, lighting operators or stage management for the running of shows. A member of our technical staff is however on standby at all times.
Please advise if you wish us to engage lighting riggers/operators, sound technicians or any stage crew on your behalf.

Dressing rooms

There are two dressing rooms all with mirrors, rails, wash hand basins, two showers & toilets.
Unfortunately we don’t have space for a green room, however there’s plenty of tea and coffee.
A washer and dryer is also located back-stage.
